Our Journey on the Dusty Road....

... following our Rabbi.
Be strong and couragous, do not be terrified, for the Lord your God goes with you wherever you go"

This is a place to keep a record of the relationship between EAC and Western Honduras.

It is a place where we can track what we have done each visit to our sister church area allowing future teams to have ideas and create unity of what we do and knowledge of where we've been.

June 2014:

Our first team visited western Honduras.
We traveled to Gulacinse and La Virtud, where we conducted a medical clinic lead by Dr Greg and a team of nurses.
This was our first introduction to the Sowers ministry.

March 2015
A team, including Pastor Dave, traveled to help teach at Pastors Training School in Gracias area.

August 2015

A team of 6 traveled to help the Sowers family with Missionary Kid Camp. Bud lead worship, Steve and Gabe helped with ropes course/games, Michelle, Hanna and Aubry lead crafts.

January 2016

A team of 4 traveled to help construct a bridge in a week, it was during this trip that the idea of a church sister program was birthed.

Summer 2016:
EAC takes a step of faith, adopting Iglesia de Cristo Ebennezar Guacatoa as our sister church. In doing this we created a child sponsorship program covering 4 local school in our sister church village vicinity.

January 2017:

This was our first visit to our sister church and sponsorship schools.

We spent a day at 3 of our 4 schools: Juan Ramon Molina, Salvador Serrano and Carlos Roberto Flores. We bused the students from our 4th school, Espiritu de Lempira, to Carlos Roberto Flores one afternoon.

At each of the schools we
1. provided a well-child check-up with the oversight of Janet a PA and several nurses.
2. Carol taught a Wordless Book Bible lesson
3. fitted students for school shoes
4. handed out backpacks
5. Josh took updated photos of children
6. provided face painting and balloon tying as well as played soccer

May 2017:

This first "family team" visited each of the four schools as well as spent time helping pour the floor and putting the roof on a local church.

In the schools we:
1. Pauli shared dental hygeine
2. Tina taught bible
3. Melissa brought a stomp rocket activity
4. Played a game
5. had home visits with some of our sponsored children

December 2017

This college age team visited each of our four schools as well as saw as a roof was constructed on the Sunday School building at our sister church in Guacatoa.

In the schools we:
1. Willow lead songs
2. Played cross the creek game
3. Olivia taught a Bible lesson on Matthew 14:22-36, the students acted out the Bible story and left with the truth that  no matter what they are facing "Take courage. I am here" Matthew 14:27
4. had home visits with some of our sponsored children
5. we dropped the ball on crafts - so no craft - for this trip but left behind several bags of small rocks perfect for painting
