{still being tweaked}
Depending on what you'll be doing your packing list may vary slightly.
GENERAL TIPS:
SUITCASES/BAGS:
The team will be carrying down items to be used in our time with our friends in Honduras, i.e. soccer balls, craft supplies, school shoes and more; because of this most of the time team members will need to check a bag full of items to be left in Honduras.
Your team will have a "Packing Party" where you will all pack these supplies and you will take your bag home where it is now your responsibility to get it to Honduras. The cost of the checked bag is in your initial trip cost, however you will need to pay for it on your own at check-in. See paying for trip page for more info.
Due to this info above we suggest you pack all of your clothing in a roller carry-on bag and backpack. Both of those are free to take on the plane.
Backpack: I like to carry a small, light fabric backpack with me; here's what I put in it:
bottle of water,
granola bar/snack,
hat/cap,
long sleeve button up shirt
flattened roll of toilet paper
hand sanitizer
This is light enough to wear on me or just leave where safe.
CLOTHING:
Link coming soon
WHAT NOT TO BRING
Please NO tank tops or short shorts
Please no super tight yoga pants, due to the Honduras culture it is more modest to wear pants or jeans.
NO camouflage or military clothing
NO low cut shirts showing cleavage
Depending on what you'll be doing your packing list may vary slightly.
GENERAL TIPS:
- Pack toilet paper, remove the inside cardboard roll, flatten it and carry it in a zip lock bag. Not all toilets have toilet paper. You also not flush toilet paper in Honduras, there is a trash can next to toilet.
- Check the weather, here is the link for Gracias, Lempira, Honduras and check for the weather during your trip.
- Sunscreen, bug spray,
- a hat for sun,
- light jacket or sweatshirt,
- bathing suit
- Money for eating while traveling to and from San Pedro Sula, Honduras to USA.
- A passport holder around your neck or waist is a good idea.
